Stop uranium mining near Mt. Rushmore

Mining company Azarga/Powertech is proposing to mine for uranium just in the Black Hills of South Dakota, just 50 miles from Mount Rushmore – threatening drinking water for families and ranchers.
If this mine is built, it will be the first in-situ leach uranium mine in South Dakota. This type of operation pumps a chemical solution into a groundwater aquifer that contains uranium ore. The chemical solution picks up the uranium, and the solution is pumped back to the surface for processing.
Groundwater has never been returned to its original condition at any in-situ leach uranium mine in the U.S.
We can't afford to pollute clean water.
Tell the EPA to protect South Dakota's groundwater from uranium mining!
