Air Pollution from Oil and Natural Gas Industries
The US Environmental Protection Agency has proposed a suite of highly cost effective regulations that would reduce harmful air pollution from the oil and natural gas industry, while allowing continued, responsible growth in U.S. oil and natural gas production. The proposed updated rules would rely on proven technologies and best practices that are in use today to reduce emissions of smog-forming volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Stop the destruction of Sumava National Park
Please join Friends of the Earth Czech Republic in calling on their government to abandon plans to cut down large areas of previously protected forest rich in biodiversity and home to endangered wildlife.
Sumava is the largest national park in the Czech Republic, and arguably the closest thing the country has to real wilderness. The national park encompasses more than 600 square kilometres of mountain spruce forests, peat bogs and other wetlands, glacial lakes and flower rich meadows.
The park is home to vital populations of lynx, caterpillar, black grouse, Ural owl and European elk. Sumava is a Natura 2000 site under both Bird and Habitat Directives, a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and its peat bogs and peat forests are listed as under the Ramsar convention on wetlands.
However, the a new director of the national park Jan Strasky has proposed large scale logging of spruce forests in the national park. This will lead to enormous clearcuts across the national park.

Stop Featuring Shark as Food
Sharks are apex predators. As such, they keep entire oceanic ecosystems in check. By feeding on other species, they are vital to our oceans.
Sadly, according to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, as many as one-third of all shark species are threatened with extinction or are close to becoming threatened. Because shark populations are in such dire straits, there's no reason for people to be eating these threatened swimmers.
Food Network and its properties are the predominant places to find food television programming. The channel boasts its own magazine, and recipes are also featured on the Food Network's Web site and its other Web properties (including recipes with shark meat as an ingredient).
Tell Food Network that you want a policy stating that shark will not be featured as an ingredient on air, in the magazine, or in recipes posted on Food Network-owned Web sites.
