Whose World Food Prize?

In a mystifying twist, this year’s World Food Prize — often referred to as the "Nobel Prize" for agriculture — is being awarded to top Monsanto and Syngenta executives for their work in developing genetically engineered (GE) crops.
This award is intended to honor people who significantly contribute to “a nutritious and sustainable food supply for all people.” The makers of GE crops don't fit the bill.
As scientists around the globe tell us, GE crops do not feed the world's hungry. This technology has consistently failed to deliver on promises of increased yields and improved nutrition.
Join us and thousands around the world in telling the World Food Prize Foundation to honor people who are truly contributing to nutritious and sustainable food for all, rather than those pushing — and profiting from — failed technologies.
