Stop the proposed Rock Creek mine!

The Cabinet Mountain Wilderness provides a rare glimpse of temperate forest in northwest Montana. This small sliver of wild land covers just 4% of the Kootenai National Forest, but it provides cold clean water to threatened bull trout and refuge for one of the few remaining grizzly bear populations in the lower-48.
The Rock Creek mine proposes to dig under the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness, and dispose of its mine waste adjacent to the Clark Fork River in an outdated, risky impoundment. To keep the underground tunnels dry, the mine proposes to lower the groundwater table and divert the groundwater that feeds the overlying wilderness streams.
