Protect Montana's Wilderness, Wildlife and Water!



A few weeks ago, we asked you to urge the Forest Service say no to the Montanore mine – a proposal to blast miles of tunnels under the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness.
Now, we're asking you to send a message to the Army Corps of Engineers, to deny the mining company's request to bury streams, springs and wetlands with mine waste.
If permitted, Montanore would bury four headwater streams, wetlands and springs with 120 million tons of mine waste in an unlined tailings impoundment.
Dumping mine waste into waters may be cheaper for the mining company, but it is not a necessary way of doing business.
